Description: Sarah sought in providing a simple and low-cost solution, that covers the basic needs of people in haphazard districts. She started her company “Shamsina” which designs a flat panel water solar heaters locally manufactured with low cost. It was a big challenge for Shamsina to have good local raw materials suitable for producing a high quality product, also finding good workers to be trained and providing good jobs for them, which gives Shamsina the opportunity to leave a large social impact beside providing hot water to people in a healthy way.
Shamsina has produced a first batch of water heaters. Its first water heater has been installed at the Nebny Foundation building in Mansheyet Nasser.
Shamsina is looking for innovators who can help them reduce the costs of the technology even more to make it accessible to a larger base of people. It’s also looking for buyers who are ready to pay a little more to sponsor a heater for a family in need, “one-for-one”!
