Description: Sun City’s founders have designed and created a Mobile Solar Pump for farmers who have one or less feddans of land. Its a new customized clean technology that tries to reduce the use of the conventional diesel water pumps. This pump has zero operating cost, exceptional high flow rate of 60 cubic meters per hour, can serve up to 15 acres per month and has a life span of up to 25 years. At such a mobile design, farmers can share the pump or even rent it to other farmers.
The biggest challenge was to design a Solar Pump that works with the least number of Solar Panels with best efficiency, foldable, light weight & easy to move, so it can serve the biggest number of acres with a competing price.
Sun City’s pumps have gained recognition and prizes from organizations across the globe like the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Stanford University, Total Startupper Competition and others.
Sun City is looking now for financial mechanisms to help farmers buy their Mobile Solar Pumps. As a company they want to have access to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agriculture Bank to explore areas of cooperation and support. They are also looking for help and support in importing the components they cannot get from local suppliers. Sun City aims to phase out diesel pumps from the African Continent not just from Egypt.
