Cleantech Arabia, supported Misr el Kheir’s (MeK) business incubator GESR in launching its 2nd incubation cycle that focused on supporting agri-business and energy startups in Egypt and targeted to commercialize the products and technologies of 10 startups with the potential of high economic and social impact. Cleantech Arabia conducted a business opportunity mapping in the the fields of agri-business and renewable energy, designed and conduced a 12-day training for 17 startups and assisted in selecting the startups who would participate in the program and those who would receive grants worth 100k EGP per startup. The activities included: •Identifying specific, highly-feasible business opportunities in the fields of renewable energy and agribusiness. •Designing and conducing a 12-day training that consisted of 7 days of business and financial training, 2 days of technical training, 3 days of presentation rehearsals and direct feedback. •Selecting the startups who would participate in the program and those who would received grants worth 100k EGP per startup
GESR also offered to support the startups from the “Nawart” Program with financial awards and in-kind support when needed. Cleantech Arabia also conducted the training for GESR’s Pre-incubation Bootcamp. The main objective of the 4-day training was to prepare 35 potential entrepreneurial teams that are selected by GESR’s pre-incubation program to move from an idea or proof-of-concept stage to launch a “technology-based startup” with an understanding of the market.
